Boredom. Boredom was one of the few things that Emilie honestly couldn’t stand. There were very few times where she was bored, but it was enough for her to develop a hatred and resentment for it. One would think that she wasn’t bored at work, considering that she was surrounded by nothing but books and that was her replacement for a boyfriend, but business was slow today and she really just couldn’t bring herself to pick up a new book to start. She had simply forgotten the one that she had already begun at home.
The girl never enjoyed starting books while entwined into the other. For her the literature was all consuming. The characters and the plot would seduce her into obsession. How could she possibly read about Antigone while she was enveloped in the universe of Jean Valjean? It was like cheating on a spouse! Emilie wouldn’t do it even if she was tied down with a book taped to her head. It just wasn’t in her nature to. And so the brunette sat behind the counter and played with a couple of bookmarks, snacking on the crappy chocolate bars that they sold there. Unfortunately her break wasn’t for quite a while, and so she couldn’t just skip out to get something to eat. Oh well. Maybe someone would come in and save her from her boredom. But for now she just sat, contemplating things to do to pass the time, anything to escape the boredom would be salvation to her.

Melody skipped into work. She was wearing jeans and a blue tank top, with no shoes on, she didnt like shoes. She was only about fifteen minutes late, she had gotten a little bit distracted during her walk to work.
Melody went into the back room and found the box of books that needed to go onto the shelves. She started paging through one called 'the wonderful world of fish' and couldnt help but giggle. Some of the fish were really silly looking. She carried the book to the counter and grinned at Emilie. "Can you save this book for me? Ill buy it after work. It was making me laugh" She scrunched her eyebrows for a moment. Why had it been making her laugh? She ran a hand through her hair and then frowned at Emilie. "I dont remember why." She pouted a little bit. She hated having memory problems, she had plenty of books in her apartment that she couldnt even remember reading until after she read the little blurb about them and even then the details would be a little fuzzy. "Emilie? Do you think there are any books about memory loss?" she smiled again, feeling suddenly better, maybe she could read about what was wrong with her!
